PMO & Professional Services Delivery
Department: Professional Services
Salary: $125,000-$175,000
FLSA Status: Exempt
Positions Supervised: TBD
Location: Remote
Created/Updated: September 29, 2026
About the Role
The Project Manager will own Consortium's Project Management Office (PMO) and is responsible for the standards, processes, and governance that guide every professional services engagement, in addition to coordinating and monitoring the execution of multiple concurrent, client-facing projects from initiation through closeout.
This role partners with service leaders, project teams, clients, Finance & Accounting, Contracting, and other stakeholders to drive projects forward and ensure they are delivered against agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality, and contractual commitments. The Project Manager provides ongoing visibility into project performance — including milestones, resource requirements, budget performance, risks, issues, and forecasted outcomes — and serves as the primary owner of consistency and accountability across engagements.
As the organization continues to mature its PMO, this role owns the continuous adoption and improvement of standardized processes and governance practices, ensuring they are defined, maintained, and followed consistently across all projects and delivery teams.
Essential Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the Project Governance Framework — the standards, templates, methodology, and delivery requirements that govern project and services quality and consistency across the organization.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies, tracking progress toward each milestone.
- Build standardized kickoff decks and lead both internal kickoff reviews and customer-facing kickoff calls.
- Coordinate with internal delivery teams on resourcing decisions and serve as the primary point of contact for customers on project status, timelines, and reporting; actively monitor project schedule, budget, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely, uninterrupted completion of projects.
- Run status meetings with follow-up notes, maintaining a consistent reporting cadence with both customers and internal leadership.
- Enforce time-entry compliance across assigned consultants, and track budget hours and dollars against actual utilization, flagging variances early.
- Document all scope, schedule, or budget changes as formal change orders before associated work begins.
- Identify and escalate delivery, scope, or budget risks per the Project Governance Framework's escalation path, driving resolution to all project-related risks and issues.
- Partner with Finance/Accounting on invoicing and forecasting inputs.
- Manage project closeout — gathering deliverables, closing tasks, storing documentation, and verifying invoicing.
- Support after-action/lessons-learned reviews for projects as required.
- Own the continual improvement of PMO processes and the project delivery experience, driving adoption across all delivery teams in partnership with leadership.
- Other duties as necessary to ensure profitability and/or as directed by management.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience building, running, or maturing a PMO — including defining standards, templates, and governance frameworks and driving adoption across teams outside direct reporting lines.
- Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, resource allocation, risks, issues, and forecasting across multiple concurrent client engagements.
- Experience with CRM and professional services automation (PSA) platforms.
- Familiarity with revenue recognition concepts, milestone-based billing, and working alongside Finance/Accounting teams.
- Comfortable engaging stakeholders at all levels, internally and with clients.
- Outstanding time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable running both internal and customer-facing meetings.
- Detail-oriented, with a track record of enforcing process discipline across project teams.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced consulting or professional services environment.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience, ideally within a cybersecurity consulting or professional services organization.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred.
Success Metrics
- Budget variance — planned vs. actual hours and dollars.
- On-time delivery against the committed schedule.
- Utilization of assigned consultants against planned hours.
- Forecast accuracy — quarterly Rev/Rec forecast vs. actual.
- Timely and accurate project reporting.
- Client and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Adoption of, and compliance with, PMO processes and governance across all delivery teams.
- Progress against the PMO maturity roadmap defined in the Project Governance Framework.
